The Transformational Acquisition
Recently, Nordique has made a transformational acquisition, entering into gold exploration in Finland. Known for its massive multi-million ounce gold deposits, Nordique is focused on the central Ylivieska group, an area known for its gold.
On June 26, Nordique entered into an agreement with Gemdale Gold, a well-established Finnish gold explorer, to acquire a 100% interest in the Isoneva project. The deal includes an initial $100,000 cash payment and a further $3,000,000 in exploration expenditure. Gemdale holds a 2% NSR royalty over Isoneva, which can be reduced to 1% through cash payments.
Isoneva is primed for a major discovery, with historic drilling and Base of Till (BoT) sampling all pointing to high-grade gold in dilation zones along lithological contacts associated with shearing and major contact zones. An important factor is the fact that glacial till covers most of the project are with very little outcrop to utilize, discoveries are made by BoT sampling as a guiding light for the drill rig. TSX:RUP (Rupert Resources) is a famous story of a 4Moz gold discovery in Finland using only Base of till drilling to guide themselves into a massive gold system, as is common practice for exploration in the Nordics.
What do we know about Isoneva
Historic drilling has already partially de-risked exploration, with highlights being:
- 17.9 m of 4.3 g/t Au (ISON0042)
- 0.41 m of 54 g/t Au (ISON0142)
Boulder mapping and sampling have uncovered continuity of gold throughout the project. Over 200 gold-bearing boulders have been sampled (>1 g/t Au), averaging ~14 g/t Au; the highest-grade sample reported is 462 g/t Au1.
On 21st August Nordique Resources announced it has commenced BoT drilling at Isoneva, with 500 BoT holes planned along a grid with holes every 20-40 metres along lines 200-400 meters apart. Drilling penetrates glacial overburden to reach the bedrock surface, allowing for representative sampling at the base of till and top of bedrock. This minimizes the risk of being misled by boulders transported by ice movements. Initially, three targets are prioritized
- Korpisalo – Strong gold-in-till anomaly with a sulphidic signature and a coincident high chargeability IP anomaly; never tested by systematic drilling.
- Tiaskuru – High grade quartz-carbonate veins in a structurally complex dilational zone. Boulder values up to 106 g/t Au1, with notable historic drill results including 0.41 m of 54 g/t Au and 32.6 g/t Ag, and 0.44 m of 18.1 g/t Au and 6.7 g/t Ag2.
- Ahveroinen – Located along a prominent tonalite contact and host to one of the densest concentrations of gold-bearing boulders on the property (up to 380 g/t Au and 98 g/t Au).
A key factor to note is that Gemdale Gold is assisting the company by remaining the operator of the property, arranging logistics with a deep understanding of Finnish gold exploration. This allows Nordique to capitalize on its expertise to make a discovery.
Whats next to watch?
- Next steps to watch for include the completion of BoT sampling, which is expected in Q4 2025, followed by the initiation of diamond core drilling anticipated for Q1 2026. Progress updates on these activities will indicate milestones in Nordique’s advancement at Isoneva.

1. Boulder sample results are from historical operators and public Geological Survey of Finland data. Boulder sampling is selective and may not represent mineralization at the Isoneva Property.
2. Bulk intersections are reported at 0.3 g/t Au cutoff with up to 5 m internal dilution. True widths are uncertain but estimated at 65–85% of downhole length.
